“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.” Dr. Seuss

As a firm believer in the absurd and whimsical, I hold Dr. Seuss up as one of my heros. I remember going to La Jolla, CA as a young teen in the 70’s and we drove past the home of Theodor Geisel, better known to the world as Dr. Seuss and the coincidences don’t stop there. In his book Horton Hears A Who, the very first sentence “On the fifteenth of May, in the jungle of Nool, . . .” has my birthday in it, which I didn’t notice until I was reading to my own children. if that isn’t enough Seuss’s own birthday is March 2, 1904, while my first child was born March 2, 1994. Well like I said before, it is the little things for me, a little cosmic wink when I look back on my life. Lisa, Rabbit Hole Dweller

“Well, I must endure the presence of a few caterpillars if I wish to become acquainted with the butterflies.” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

I believe I am still in the caterpillar stage, I’m eating my way out of the cocoon, I can see the light coming through the papery membrane . . . soon I will soar. Lisa, Rabbit Hole Dweller

“You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll always love you, Peter Pan. That’s where I’ll be waiting.” quote by Tinkerbell, Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie

The proverbial space between, it is the place of brilliant inspirations, or occasional nightmares of which it is difficult to wake from. It is our connection to our subconscious mind, which is elusive and can be somewhat cryptic. Make no mistake though, that is where your brilliance lies in silence just waiting for a chance to be seen. Lisa, Rabbit Hole Dweller

“The Polar Express is about faith, and the power of imagination to sustain faith. It’s also about the desire to reside in a world where magic can happen, the kind of world we all believed in as children, but one that disappears as we grow older.” Quote by Chris Van Allsburg

In my life, I had forgotten about magic. Life has a way of knocking you down, it is our job to get back to what we knew as children . . . anything is possible . . .do you believe?

“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

The beauty of art is that anything is possible. Art brings the beautiful and even absurd into a tangible reality. A good artist brings you into his inner mind, a great artist invokes feelings into full blown experience.

“Who are you?” quote by Caterpillar, Alice in Wonderland

The thing I love best about dear Caterpillar is the he helps Alice by empowering her to help herself. He gives her the mushroom in order to changer her size in Wonderland. In spite of how rude he was to Alice, he gave her the best gift of all. That is finding herself without the help of others. He doesn’t even have a name, he remains mysterious. He was considered to be the guide of Alice. We all need Caterpillar energy in our lives because we do indeed have all the answers to our questions inside, its just a matter of asking and listening. “My dear, here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place. And if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast as that.” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

You see the problem is that the world has changed, it is no longer the same. Long gone are the days when reality was real. The problem is that there are 7 billion people inhabiting this small planet creating different realities. There is a glitch in the matrix, there are many glitches in fact, however there is no turning back now, we can only realize that we are indeed in the Rabbit Hole and we must make sense out of a mad, mad world.
